I’m surrounded by many talented people in my life and in the blogging world. Sharing Creativity is a way to show that I am proud of them as well as a way to share their talents with you all. Whether their talents include photography, crafting, baking, whatever, I’m excited to share their creativity!
Today Amy Jo from Soul Paint Co is going to be sharing some of her beautiful paintings with us! Amy Jo is a Holistic Wellness Coach and Soul Painter located in Kansas City, Missouri. She has a degree in Art Therapy, as well as certifications in Holistic and Integrative Health, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine. I have been an artist since I could hold a paintbrush. My Nana would always paint with me (she’s an artist as well) and she really sparked my interest at a very young age. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Art Therapy, and quickly realized that the typical 9 to 5 job totally wasn’t for me. I forged my own path and now teach Soul Paint classes to a vast array of people, as well as being a Holistic Wellness Coach! My wish is to help my clients see beauty in their every day lives, and the fact that I can make an impact while still doing art really is a dream come true! I began offering my Soul Paint classes a few years ago in Kansas City. Since then, they have grown and I am now able to host retreats, as well as virtual sessions via Skype to people all over the world! I fully believe each and every person has creativity inside of them that is begging to come out! So many of my students have never even held a paintbrush before, but by the end of our sessions they are completely open to their own creative power and are able to tune into to their intuition.
Intuitive painting is a unique style of painting in which their are NO RULES! You CANNOT mess up. You CANNOT fail. You can simply make magic. This style of painting focuses on your inner soul… that little voice inside of you that says YES! TRY THAT! YOU CAN DO IT! It’s completely freeing and opens the mind up for exploration. Having the education in all areas of art really made me form a strong “critic”. After college, I completely shut down and told myself I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t paint for 2 years. I had feelings of doubt, judgement, fear, and frustration because I felt like I had “lost it”. I felt like I didn’t know who I was as a painter…much less a person. One day, I had had enough and I BROKE FREE!
I discovered the world of intuitive painting and have been hooked ever since. Art doesn’t have to be perfect, or look like anything specific. The beauty is in finding your inner power to break free from judgement of yourself. My inner critic has been silenced and my soul is on fire with the excitement to paint and share this process for transformation with others! Right now, I offer private and group Soul Paint sessions as well as Holistic Wellness Coaching to clients around the world. If you’d like more information, click here!
